Short version: the Fertiliser & Nutrient Calculator is working again. Enter your crop, soil and what grew there last year, and you get nitrogen, phosphate, potash, magnesium, sulphur and lime recommendations straight from AHDB's own RB209 engine.
What happened
When we launched it on 19 August, the tool was running on a trial of AHDB's API. A few days later AHDB asked us to pause it until a proper licence was in place, so we did. If you tried it in the last month and got a "paused" notice, that's why.
The licence is now signed on both sides, and AHDB moved our access from trial to full today. We ran a real calculation on the live site to make sure: winter wheat, feed, 8 t/ha, and the engine answered with 220 kg N/ha.
What hasn't changed
- Still free, no signup. No account, no adverts, and nothing about you is stored. Your field details go to the engine, the answer comes back to your screen, and that's all.
- Still AHDB's numbers, not ours. Every figure on the results page comes from the RB209 engine, marked with its source.
- Still a planning aid, not advice. Nutrient plans and NVZ compliance belong with a FACTS qualified adviser who knows your farm.
What it covers today
Arable crops in England and Wales, one crop a year. Scotland will follow when AHDB adds Scottish recommendations to the API. We'll email you the day it does.
